For Mitch’s first ever Friday Meme, she asks:
This is my take:
Married life right after the wedding was already challenging but motherhood, I must say, is way a lot stimulating and tougher. From the moment I learned that I was pregnant, my perspective totally changed. I knew then from that moment, that it’s no longer “me, myself and I” because there’s a new being who’d be totally dependent on me on the first few years of his life. Hence, I bid goodbye to my “single life” ways:
1. On gimiks -
Now: no time for it
2. On shopping.
Then: new trendy clothes, gadgets, etc.
Now: anything baby-related stuffs
3. On leisure time.
Then: unlimited “me” time
Now: almost none
4. On sleep.
Then: uninterrupted night sleep
Now: sleepless nights
5. On career.
Then: working full time with matching endless overtime
Now: at the back seat. Turned SAHM.
6. On expenses.
Then: bills, gimiks, getaways, shopping
Now: still bills and shopping plus baby expenditures (check-ups, immunizations, diapers, educational plan, etc)
7. On what’s inside the bag.
Then: personal effects
Now: diapers, feeding bottles, changing mat, burping cloth, etc.
8. On body.
Now: Love handles, stretch marks, engorged and leaking breasts
9. On exercise and keeping body fit
Then: a home gym equipment
Now: my baby who’s getting heavier day by day
And this list can go on as there are just so many differences that took place as I entered the world of Motherhood. Even though life became complicated, I’m loving each and every moment of my life now that I am a Mom. My life has forever changed when I had Asher and I can’t imagine it any other way. Just seeing daily that my baby is happy and thriving keeps me hyped up from all the hustle and bustle of a mom’s life.
