Destination Weddings.
It was just last Friday that I stumbled upon the show Married Away over at ETC Channel and I think, I’ll be hooked. I love weddings so I’m just a sucker with tv shows having wedding-related topics, reality wedding and all sort of those things. Anyway, back to the show, it’s actually a reality TV showcasing destination weddings. They feature real life engaged couples’ adventures and even misadventures as they prepare and consequently hold their weddings in far away places. The last episode featured two American weddings, one held in Jamaica and one in Argentina. They have their own reasons as to why they prefer marrying in far away places like perhaps it’s their home country, a place close to their hearts or simply because they find the place cool and romantic for a wedding. More often than not, they choose to hold it in a beach then book a honeymoon all inclusive resort for a more extravagantly emotional mood as they celebrate their union. Destination weddings are definitely tough in terms of the preparation, organizing and covering the whole event itself. Among the downsides of such are the cost, logistics and the guests’ travel arrangements. Well and good if their guests are willing to shoulder their fares but most likely the couple must have a way to at least lessen, if they can’t totally avoid, their guests’ inconveniences. So in such, discount vacation packages are of great help. If given the chance, would you pursue a destination wedding? If yes, where?

…sad but true.
As I was composing my email to a dear soon-to-be-bride-HS classmate, Wilsie, on her wedding suppliers inquiry, I stumbled upon this article where a bride sues his ex-groom who ditched her the moment before they exchange their I-Do’s. These are actually common scenes in movies but I have to say that it’s pretty peculiar and awkward to happen in real life. Read more about the bride’s tragic story here.
My two sisters will be marrying soon (one on August and the other January of next year). Then three of my High School classmates have also announced their engagements and are in the midst of their wedding preparations (Hi Leia, Belay and Wilsie). Well, good luck and hope you weren’t disheartened by such wretched and appalling love stories. ![]()
