Twitter/Bebot Exchange Gifts Update.
Apparently, the exchange gift is seldom discussed recently in Twitter. I think two have already received their gifts from their Mommies but they haven’t blogged about it yet as the revelation is set on Dec 6. So far I haven’t received any..perhaps, my mommy hasn’t bought her gift or probably she’s still having a hard time deciding which to give from among the things I listed in my long wish list. LOL. We still have a couple of weeks anyway and that’s still a pretty long time.
As for my baby, well, please be advised that I have ordered your stuff online. As to when will I ship it, that I don’t know yet. LOL. Basta just wait for it and it will be delivered in the days to come. ![]()
My Twitter EB Kwento.
I’m targeting to share my own account of the Twitter EB before Christmas this week month ends..so here it goes. I’ll also be having some more excerpts in my Mommy Blog to entail some more Asher-related kwentos too in the party.
Date: October 18, 2008
Venue: Citadell Inn
Room: 2508
The moment this party was finalized a month ago, I anxiously blocked the set date on our calendar right away even without asking first the consent of the husband, unmindful of whatever plans he might have for that weekend (LOL). You would have probably sensed how excited I was with all the prior countdown posts & twits and even the early gifts shopping I made not only for our exchange gift babies but for all of the attending Twitter kiddos as well. Since this is our super advanced Christmas Party, seeing the kids receiving gifts in delight would such be a happy sight. And so, I started shopping 1/3 of the list a week and half before the EB so I wouldn’t cram and drag the husband to boredom and exhaustion by the time we’d go malling to complete them on a weekend. (Turned out, ganun pa rin, humaba nguso niya sa tagal naming magshop sa Trinoma).
On the EB day, Kathy and I agreed that we’ll be at the hotel early so that we can have more chikahan and so we can also go home early since Asher retires the night as early as 7:30 pm. By 2 pm, we were on our way to Makati (from Frisco) and Kathy and I were already texting, updating each other where we were na, that we’re hungry already and that the room won’t be available by 3:30 pm. We were in no hurry since there was no traffic at all. We also dropped by our Makati home first to pass time and breastfeed Asher before we head to Citadel. By 4 pm, we were ringing the room’s door bell and we were greeted by Joy who’s even prettier in person, more gorgeous than her celebrity look alike Katie. LOL. Ang tangkad pala niya (or perhaps I’m just too petite). Inside were Alpha and Kathy (and their husbands) who were already exchanging stories while Olin and Estong were playing. Asher quietly played with the toys on the bed while Alpha took shots of him. Jojo was talking to Thea on the phone who was lost in the outskirts of the hotel area.
Then Aggie’s family arrived shortly with a sleeping Martha. She’s awakened when she was laid down on the bed, her eyes grew big in surprise when she saw all of us looking at her. Joy praised how nice her dress was and asked if she can borrow it…the little girl snapped on us, looked at us sternly wide-eyed and said a big “No!”, mumbled a few words then roared like a tiger afterwards. She’s so cute kahit nakakatakot siyang magalit. Haha! Then Mato was all behaved in the corner playing his Mommy’s laptop while Estong and Olin snagged and played Martha’s dog balloon resulting to Martha’s nagging on her Mom for help.
Soon after, Abie’s family arrived with lots of toys in tow. Bela is also so cute in her blouse and skirt and the way she talks in English (so fluent and slang pa). The pool of balls was setup and the riot began. Bela and Martha were diving as if they’re plunging on a real swimming pool. Litzie (with Denon and Dustin) arrived with a box of carrot cake which was so yummy, by the way. We even packed some for takeout. True to her word, Litzie is so tahimik in person nga but looks smirkish and smiling naughtily while flipping the pages of Joy’s Gong Yoo book. I wonder if Denon saw and noticed those “kinikilig” smiles. Then came Thea’s family. Her daughter, the cutie curly-haired Mikee, is so well behaved that she was just quietly seated on the bed playing. She also joined the other kids in the pool of balls but was not as rowdy as the other kids. Thea is indeed chatty and bubbly in person as she is in twitter and in the email exchanges we had while planning the party. I was actually waiting for her promised dance number but I dunno why she didn’t perform. Minutes later, preggy Peachy arrived alone. Unfortunately, her hubby and Joaqui wasn’t able to join the party as they are in Rockwell that time.
The kids were loud. The Mommies watched over their kids while making kwentos about all sorts of things just like we do on Twitter. The Daddies were quiet in their own corners of the room. Mga mahiyain. They were supposed to play poker but the kids occupied the whole room so they ran out of space where they could setup the game. Jumping and diving kids everywhere, running and shouting on top of their lungs..the hotel room was actually turned into a sanctuary of playing kids.
As soon as the food was ready, everyone filled their plates with sumptuous CCME dishes. Yummy is an understatement…I love the pot roast and barbecue the most. I was supposed to eat spaghetti for my second round but didn’t get to taste it because Asher was getting cranky already and of course nobody can pacify him but me. He’s really getting so clingy to me these days.
After eating, we readied for the exchange gifts. I almost forgot to give Olin’s gift for Mato to Kathy. (Just a side kwento for Aggie: The reason why I was so confident to buy Mato a Tell Me About gift not thinking na baka dumoble from the one who drew his name is because Kathy asked me then a favor to buy it as Olin’s gift kung magawi kami sa Trinoma. Sabi mo daw kasi sa Trinoma and nasa kabilang side daw sila ng bundok so di sila makakapunta dun. And so anyway, when I saw those books at Shopwise, I texted her immediately and said that I’ll buy it for her. And since wala ng ibang wish si Mato sa list kundi yun, I grabbed another title to serve as Asher’s gift as well. So ayun, same din pati pambalot. LOL)
The revelation was actually fun. I didn’t expect that Peachy was my Mommy and she gave me this beautiful fitted bed sheet. I love the color and style and just suits the color of our room in Frisco. Peachy, super natuwa si Paul. LOL. We just recently “upgraded” kasi our bed from a twin to queen size (not king size as I blogged before) and we only have a few sheets so with Peachy’s gift, nadagdagan na. I’m sure Kathy was also surprised to know that she’s my Monita. I gifted her with an Ultima green-colored queen size fitted sheet that was on top of her wish list. So ayun, kaaliw..I gave a bed sheet tapos I also received a bed sheet. Hehe!
For the kiddies, Mato initiated the exchange gift and gave Asher a V-Tech Learn and See Key Educational Toy. Of course, the little one loved it and in fact, started gnawing the moment he saw it. LOL. Then Asher gave Martha DVDs of Elmo and Barney plus a box of Dora flash cards. I did mention that Asher would be a Santa that evening so he also gave the other kids their advance Christmas gifts. Asher also received a Brainy Baby book from ate Sandy and a Sponge Bob hand towel from ate Olin. Hay…the pictures will tell how much the kids and more so the Mommies with the exchanging of gifts.
Soon after, everyone started packing since it was already getting late (for the kids). I would love to stay longer and make chikahan with the Mommies but Asher got crabby na because he was so sleepy but couldn’t get his sleep. And so, us, Peachy, Alpha’s, Kathy’s, Abie’s and Litzie’s families bid goodbye and all we went down altogether. Thea, Joy and Aggie stayed further and we later found out that they devoured the fruit salad Joy “secretly” kept in the fridge. LOL.
I would love to meet again these wonderful ladies and kidlets. I’m looking forward to our next EB.
Thanks Alpha and Kathy for the pictures.
My first impressions entry..coming up!

It’s my first time to join here and here’s my take for this week’s prompt:

Actually I have several sets of friends, all are equally close or became close to me at the different times/phases of my life. So to answer the question, the topics would be diverse depending who I am with. Let’s say if it’s my High School group whom we (hubby and me since we’re HS classmates) see twice or thrice in a year, the recent life happenings and our mischiefs and adventures during our school days would be the usual topics. We would make fun of the katotoyans and kanenehans in us way back teenage years including the funny antics of our gay classmates. If it’s my all girl college barkada, topics would be about love with them as single ladies and me as the only married & mom in the group yet, fashion and beauty (including their slimming and facial regimens such as acne treatment). If it’s my Twitter friends, topics would be about our kiddos, fashion, [online] shopping and blogging ventures consist our discussion just like what we had at the Twitter EB last Saturday. If it’s with my CWL online sisters, talks about motherhood would definitely be the topic.
