Today’s Flowers.
Santan, an ornamental plant commonly grown in the gardens of Filipino homes. My grandparents have plenty of these in the province and I remember my siblings and I loved tasting its sweet nectar. There’s a thread-like structure in the middle of the flower that you have to pull where a tiny drop of nectar will come out by the end of stem. There’s even a joke that says “you didn’t pass childhood if you didn’t have a taste of Santan’s nectar”.
