Flying Without Wings.

Just another milestone to add in my son’s developing and explorable world. At four months, he can now roll over at one side on his own and lift his head up as high as this.
Other developments and things worth noting about him at this stage are:
1. He’s more sociable with his charming smiles whenever someone coos over him.
2. He’s a one loud blabber.
3. When he’s bored, he has this certain “yell” and loud shrieks ala-”Hoy Ano Ba Pansinin Niyo Ako?!?!” (like that of a grown-up man) that will catch everyone’s attention.
4. Whatever his hands grasp and hold of goes directly to his mouth and gnaws on it.
5. I think he’s teething already. He’s a big drool machine that we have to change his shirt and bib often as it’s all soaked up with his overflowing saliva. His eyes are glued and would concentrate closely on foods.
6. He can now recognize me as his Mom as he’d stop from crying when I cuddle and console him.
7. He can also recognize na his Dad. He has this big smile whenever he sees his Dad arrive from work.
8. He’s super likot when he sleeps. Paul and I would surprisingly wake up in the middle of the night finding his feet or hands splat on our faces.
9. When awake, he prefers that he’d be carried upright than lying down on his back.
10. His nap times during the day are at 9 am (after the morning bath), at 1 pm then at 5 pm. He’d nap for two hours or sometimes less. Then at night, sleeps at about 8 pm after his bedtime bath and night feeding.
11. He loves malling and going out. So far, it’s only SM North that he’s been to.
12. It’s now easier to make him giggle. His laughingstock is me doing the “Eat Bulaga” to him or on the mirror.
13. He successfully did “close open” on his own for the first time last Sunday while I show him my left hand doing it as his guide. I doubt though if he can do it again as it’s too early but at least we’re getting there.
14. We went to Capitol last Saturday and had his repeat hearing test. His initial newborn test yielded a failed remark with his right ear. He got 100% this time (meaning it’s a-okay) and oddly, it’s the left which got a lower percentile at 99.69%.
15. He’s still exclusively breastfed.
16. As of his last checkup (June 28), he weighs 6.3 kilos. I tried getting his weight through our weighing scale and it seems he’s now on the 7 kilos mark. No wonder my arms are so sored and aching.
17. Brahms Lullaby is his favorite. He easily falls asleep (eventhough I just sing “lala la, lala la…” since there are too many versions and I can’t even memorize the lyrics of just one) when I sing this to him especially if he’s latched on and nursing with me. He’s making it as his pacifier.
18. Manipis pa din buhok niya..obviously, he got it from his Dad.
I’m just glad that I’m seeing all these milestones first hand. No regrets talaga ang pag-resign.
