Parties & Events: Part 1 (Dom’s Birthday and Jayden’s Christening)
As I’ve mentioned last month, we were so fortunate to have been invited to many parties for the month of November until the first week of December.
This post is way overdue (as most of my posts have been) but nevertheless, I find it better to blog the parties we’ve attended chronologically, well not really to show how party animals we’ve become but yes, we’re still high and feeling the party fever up to now.
November 8, 2009
We got 2 invites to 2 different events. One’s a baptism and the other was a first birthday party. We could have easily managed and attended these two parties with much ease and could have worked well to our advantage (meaning tiba-tiba sa food!) but the problem was, they were held at the same time and in two venues that are cities apart. Passing up one party was never an option. Jayden’s the son of hubby’s bestfriend and he’s one of the godparents. On the other hand, I have long confirmed to Peachy, a dear online friend, our attendance to Dom’s 1st birthday party months before the party. Besides, Asher is so fond of parties (errr more on balloons) so just by knowing that it has a Candyland theme and it is being organized by a bonggacious Mommy, we cannot simply miss this grand party.
So how did we manage to attend both parties?
We arrived at San Agustin Church before 11 am. We stayed and mingled with our High School barkada for a while, waited for the celebrant’s arrival, took a few pictures of us and when the ceremony was about to start, Asher, ate Rachel (Yayie’s reliever) and I hailed a cab and went to Makati Sports Club leaving the husband behind.
So there nagawan ng paraan.
We arrived a little bit late at Dom’s party but we still caught the earlier part of the program. We had our picture taken at the photo booth, joined the games for toddlers and won a prize, had a Starbucks drink and potato fries from the food carts, feasted on catered yummo lunch meals, joined the Bring Me game (and again won), amused and entertained by the master magician himself, Wanlu, got inside a huge bubble during the Bubble Show and of course, photo opps and nonstop chitchatting with my fellow Twitter/Bebot moms. There never is a dull moment whenever I meet up with these online in real life friends. And with such a fabulous party, our kids had the grandest time. Thanks for inviting us, Mommy Peachy.

We don’t have much photos at Dom’s party because our Nikky was with the husband. I figured, I wouldn’t be able to use it since Asher wasn’t so keen with his nanny’s reliever and would be demanding nobody but me. So that’s exactly what happened.
One of our options before these two parties was that we’ll attend Jayden’s binyag first, then from MOA where the reception will be held, off we go to Makati Sports Club. Luckily, we didn’t pursue that plan because apparently, Roxas Blvd was closed to traffic that morning for a marathon event thereby causing major traffic in that area. Hubby got to the reception pretty late na. Tapos na ang party ni Dom if ever. Here are just a few of the hubby’s shots at Jayden’s baptism.
