Happy Friday!

August 24th, 2012

It’s another long weekend for us, hooray!  This means longer bonding and quality time with the husband and our two little A’s.  The husband, however, will be so called “on-call” tomorrow for a deployment project they’re handling but it’s just fine.  He’ll be working from home so he’s here with us and we can “disturb” him from time to time. LOL.

Aside from his Saturday WFH task, we haven’t finalized our plans yet but come Sunday, we’ll be doing our routine..grocery, hear mass and visit the grannies.

Our Monday will be spent shopping at our nearby mini-Divisoria to scout for Asher’s Filipiniana costume for their Buwan ng Wika celebration next week.

Happy Friday and long weekend everyone!

Ouchie Legs

August 24th, 2012

Twice this week, Asher complained of muscle ache on his right leg.  It must really be painful since he was writhing and crying.  I’m not really sure how and where this pain originates but I’m guessing that it has something to do with the cool weather plus he sometimes strains too much his legs by dancing and jumping frequently.  At one point, I thought of checking out the compression socks at ShanMedical.com as it might be helpful on him.  But I believe it would be better to consult his doctor just to be sure.  I’m not really that worried because I also experienced this occasionally when I was in his age.  They would just massage it with an Efficascent Oil then after a while, the pain just disappears.  As for Asher, since we don’t have the said oil, I massage it with a sunflower oil or the blessed oil from Our Lady of Manaoag, elevate the aching leg on a pillow and after a while, he’s relieved and feels much better.

Long Weekend

August 23rd, 2012

The recent long weekend holidays was a well-spent one for us.

Saturday:  I craved for another Mezza Norte Adventure so there we were, I devoured on roastbeef slices, rice and sweet potatoes for dinner.  Paul, on the other hand, enjoyed his grilled liempo while Asher, being the “Pasta Boy” that he is, ate baked macaroni.  (Sorry, I forgot the booth names).  Asher and I had a La Pinay dessert from Café Breton which he had been craving since he tasted this at the recent meet up with Twitter friends a few weeks ago.  We let the little one play at Timezone before going home.

Sunday: It was a day with the grannies.  We trooped to my folks’ place where we had lunch and merienda.  The 2 kids were so happy to see their maternal Lolo and Lola whom they missed so much.  We dropped by at Frisco before going home to visit the other set of grannies and that’s where we also had our Dinner.

Monday: Divisoria Day!  We took advantage of the Holiday and shopped for Ashley’s party giveaways and prizes.  As always, Divisoria is literally a haven for inexpensive and practical party loots.  We brought home 3 huge plastic bags of loots for just a meager amount of peso.

Tuesday: The husband did some spring cleaning of the house while I finished the Dainty Ashley felt flower headbands ordered for 30 kids in Ulingan by Project Pearls.   We also reviewed Kuya Asher for his 1st Quarter Assessment that started yesterday.

The upcoming weekend is yet another a long one for us.  Woohoo!  We haven’t decided yet where we’ll spend our Monday but it seems it’ll be another shopping day for us.  Smile

Whatever, Whenever, Wherever

August 23rd, 2012

Asher, I know you’re going to get mad at me when you see this a few years from now.  Mommy just finds it cute and amazing that you can fall asleep in whatever position, whenever and wherever.

Yes, that’s our boy.  This was taken while doing our grocery shopping one Sunday morning.  We were casually doing our rounds near the  retail cigars store and the next thing we see, there he is, doing a power nap.  Don’t think that he lacked sleep since that was around 10 in the morning and he just woke up from an 11-hour sleep.  Such a sleepyhead, huh?

Today..8/9/12

August 9th, 2012

Trying this out..thanks Suzanne for the prompt.

Outside my window… the sun finally peeking.

I am thinking…what to eat for merienda this afternoon.  I know I just ate my lunch but hunger pangs are ringing.

I am thankful for… the Filipino bayanihan spirit and resilience.

From the kitchen… meat being thawed for dinner tonight.

I am wearing… an oversized shirt and my pink shorts.

I am creating… prototypes of new Dainty Ashley collections after finishing my online assignments.

I am going…to see and check my napping baby.

I am reading…  Facebook feeds of friends.

I am hearing… the voice of Buzz Lightyear.  Asher is watching Toy Story on Disney Channel.

Around the house…the husband is having a call with his colleagues (working from home), Ashley’s napping, Asher’s busy munching and licking his fave sandwich filling while watching Toy Story.

One of my favorite things…my iPhone.
