Some friends are saying that I’m a little beefy now compared to last year or the time when they last saw me in person.  That’s actually music to my ears and I so like that.  As you know I’ve been wanting to gain back my pre-pregnancy weight which is my average built and weight.  So definitely, I don’t have the slightest interest with diet pills. Anyway, comparing the pictures above, I don’t know if it’s just the hairstyle or the pose that made me look less skinny.  But one thing’s for sure, I look younger more than ever.  Agree or agree?

So who’s your “ate” again, Asher?

Mother’s Day.

May 31, 2010 By: Mai Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I’m browsing this blog now and it just dawned on me that there were so much happenings that I haven’t shared still.  Bad blogger, I know.

Anyway, here’s one of the overdue posts and hopefully, I can blog the remaining ones consequently.

– Mother’s Day ‘10 –

We just had a simple celebration this year.  May has been a busy month for us with work and our house moving.  That’s why even though we’ve been yearning to go out of town, we just had a simple lunch out celebration at Trinoma.  It’s actually a triple treat -  mother’s day celebration for both MIL and me and Paul’s birthday celebration.  We initially planned to dine at Conti’s but with the thick crowd deluging the store, we decided to eat elsewhere.  We passed by Superbowl of China and since there was a ready table, we didn’t wander any further.

While waiting for our order, we were served with fish crackers as appetizers and look who finished the whole platter:

We ordered about 3 dishes plus my favorite dimsum, siomai.  Yayie was on vacation that time so Paul and I took turns in feeding and looking after the little one.  Thus, only few pictures were taken.  Here’s a glimpse of the foods we ate that almost seemingly challenged the diet pills that really work.  We were so full!

Then we had a little picture taking after.  Thank you dear hubby for the wonderful and tummy-satisfying lunch treat.

“Daddy, Buy Dam” Part 2

May 31, 2010 By: Mai Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

4652221037_a5f454f712_b Here’s the picture I took of him while tinkering and playing for the first time the drum toy that his Daddy bought him.  As I’ve mentioned previously, he can now communicate in fragments.  Here’s a sample discussion we normally have:

Mommy: Asher, Where’s Daddy?

Asher: “Office.  Buy toy. Cher-cher”

When he suddenly remembers his Daddy at random times of the day, he would hand me my cellphone so we can call his Daddy.

Daddy: Hello, Asher!

Asher: Daddy! Buy toy! Buy e-peyn. Buy dam. Buy truck. Buy afwin. Buy A-yibee. (He’s asking his daddy to buy him an airplane, drum, truck, ice cream and Jollibee).

Looks like somebody’s planning to make our house a toy museum with all of the toys he wants to be bought for him, huh.

Another funny thing when he played his drum for the first time, he suddenly exclaimed:

Asher: “Daddy! Buy guitar!”

Great, looks like he’s building his own band, too.

I can’t believe that he’s this big now.  It seems it was just yesterday when I was scouring for stretch mark cure after giving birth to him.  And now, he’s grown a lot and smarter.  He’s getting more talkative each day surprising us with his blossoming vocabulary.  In no time, he’ll be able to improve his speech and pronunciation even more.

My Reward For Myself.

“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”.

My laptop and the husband are the witnesses and they just know how hard I’ve been working these past couple of months.  Online earning opportunities are aplenty so there’s nothing left for me to do but just grab each that is showered my way.  Our Little Mansion is also a great motivation that’s why “strike while the iron is hot” has been my mantra.

4652221541_2c77a9bff8_b And so since my paypal has been overwhelmingly blessed and that our savings are impressively coping up despite the major damages that the acquisition and moving in has caused our wallets, I didn’t wait any further after paying my online life insurance. I bought and rewarded myself with something I’ve been drooling over for a long time.  Actually, an iPhone is what I really have been longing but for practical reasons, I settled for the second best, an iPod Touch.  As how my good friend Kathy puts it, an iTouch is just like an iPhone but without calling and text messaging features.  Other than that, it also allows web browsing, downloading of games and applications just like an iPhone does.

I got a very good deal at Ebay.  It’s really such a steal.  Since Friday, I’ve been crazily downloading apps and games.  Playing and tinkering it is what I normally do to relax a bit from working.  And yes, somebody (not me) is addicted to playing Plants vs. Zombies now.  While I work at night, he’s on the other side of the bed communing with the plants and zombies until his eyes droop low. Hehe!

Father’s Day Plans.

May 29, 2010 By: Mai Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Father’s Day is just less than a month away.  We do not have particular plans yet as to how our celebration will be like for this year but I know that it will be extra special for Paul.  By then, we’ll be in our new house and as acquiring a new home and moving in is so expensive, I’m positive that he won’t make any wish list again and even my usual gift of men’s polo shirts won’t be appealing to him.  I’m very sure he would say that there’s no need for me to buy him any Father’s day gift because to him, the Little Mansion which we fondly call our new home, would be more than enough.  I also just know that his dialogue will be like “no gifts…just allot the money for amortizations..period”.  So there, there might be no expensive gifts but certainly, Asher and I will come up with something to honor the best dad we’ve ever known.

More “Daddy, Buy….” Requests.

May 29, 2010 By: Mai Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Lately, Asher has already learned to request, most of the time, from his daddy to buy him something before coming home from work.  In fact, his idea is that Paul goes to office to buy him a toy.  So when asked:

Mommy: Asher, where’s daddy?

Asher: Opish….buy toy Cher-cher.  (Translation: In the office…to buy a toy for Asher)

At random times, he remembers his Daddy during the day and he would hand me my celphone and asks that we call Paul.

Here’s what I often hear upon handing him the mobile phone:

Asher (in a jolly, giddy voide): “Daddy! buy toy…buy e-peyn (airplane)…buy dam (drum)..buy guitay (guitar)..buy ayeebee (Jollibee)…buy afwin (ice cream)…buy tuck (truck)..buy bash (bus).”

Those are the things that he unceasingly requests.  I can’t help but chuckle because he truly is so funny.  I can just imagine how his Daddy is grimacing on the other line listening to his litany.

Ah..a mom’s simple joys.  I bet I don’t need the top wrinkle cream yet because my son, himself, is an age-defying remedy most especially when he’s at his witty, behaved and smart self.

“Daddy, Buy Dam”

May 28, 2010 By: Mai Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I haven’t blogged about it but our little Asher can now little by little communicate verbally.  He can not complete a full sentence yet but he’s at the stage when he can already use several main words altogether to relay his thoughts.  He’s still struggling with the pronunciation of “r” and “l” though.

Here’s an example:

“Daddy, buy dam”

He’s not pertaining to a “dam” but a “drum”.  Not the stainless steel drums but the percussion musical instrument.  He has developed fascination over such during the elections when he saw campaign parades involving drummers on the street.  He also sees it on TV when he and his Daddy watch music videos involving music bands.

I’m really excited and look forward to hear more from him in the next coming days.

I’m Here.

Before you think that I’ve  transferred to Timbuktu because of lack of personal posts  or before you suspect that I’m in the middle of acnepril medication and too shy to come out because of zombie-looking facial blemishes, I’m finally coming out.  No..no gay admissions here.  I mean, I’m back trying to write a more decent post.

I’m certain that you know already the answer of my absence or do I still need to turn on my recorder to announce the overused reason of my being MIA?

Yada yada yada….yes, as always, I’ve been so busy ever with my other online projects…busy as a beaver that I really can’t find some spare time to update this personal blog of mine.

Anyway, I just want to tell everybody that life has been so great to me.  I’ll try to blog about the recent happenings in our lives soon and the reasons of my being happy and feeling overly blessed all the time.

Comment on Spa-mart Review

May 27, 2010 By: Mai Category: Uncategorized 1 Comment →

We do not have a hot tub nor do I frequent a spa so I don’t really have that much idea about such related products. I am pleased to know that there is an online shop where discount spa covers can be purchased at such a good deal.
