..and it’s 2009 already.
Despite the rains (because of the low pressure area), the sounds and lights of fireworks still fill the air. After all, new year celebration is never complete without it, isn’t it? I just wish that everyone celebrates the coming of 2009 safe.
Just taking a break for a short a while. I feel pretty exhausted from cooking carbonara for our media noche later. We’ll also be having fruit salad, graham crema cake (or whatever its name is), ham and hotdogs. What’s on your dinner table tonight?

Aside from the holidays that keep us occupied these days, the homecoming of my sister from Qatar and my stepmom from Saudi Arabia also kept our hands full recently (thus, it’s only now that I got to sneak in and share some blog updates). And homecoming such as this translates to just one thing…tons of loots for the little one. Truly, he received several apparels, 3 pairs of baby shoes, toys and baby biscuits from them. And we’re still readying for more with the impending arrival of my Dad from Saudi on the 13th. As my stepmom brought the loots out of the balikbayan box, she kept on telling me not to expect much for me as what she has are mostly for my son. It’s no big deal really and in fact, I’m more than grateful that my son is remembered. I got anyway a pair of Ipanema slippers from my stepmom and chocolates from my sister. My sister truly knows me well. She knows that a box of chocolate would definitely bring a sparkle to my eyes and a wide grin to my face. Don’t ask where is it now as I’ve consumed them all in an instant as soon as the box landed on my hands.
Speaking of Chocolates, I’m longing to taste these goodies that I stumbled upon online while surfing earlier. Have anyone tasted these Gertrude Hawk Chocolates? I literally browsed all the site categories as I drool over their smidgens, truffles, chewy and crunchy nuts, caramels and a lot more and guess what, now my taste buds are dictating me to get up and head to the fridge to grab some sweets. There goes my sweet tooth again. I’ll definitely scour the Duty Free shop when Dad gets home for these gourmet chocolates.

It seems it is.
It has been raining since this morning here in our place so I wonder how everyone will light up firecrackers later this evening. Hope the sky will somehow clear up tonight for us to watch and appreciate the colorful pyrotechnics and sparklers later.
Meanwhile, as early as now, let me greet you all have a happy and safe new year celebration ahead.
