Lucky Dad.

Hmm, looking at these pictures, I know now why the husband prayed for a son…so he’ll have a junior he can boss around. Just kidding. In fact, it’s Asher who’s seemingly the boss whenever his Daddy arrives home in the evening. Without being signaled or told, he automatically “commands” his Dad to sit down (by tapping the bed) so he can help him remove his socks. And yet again, because he’s so observant and smart, he learned by himself that the socks must go directly to the hamper. And who has the biggest smile after this routine? Of course, the lucky Dad. In a few years time, I can already foresee the little one wiping the windshield, spoiler and the hood as he helps his Daddy clean the van. That’s how little Asher is lately, he’s been a great imitator. Filed under All About Baby A, Family Talks. | Comment (0)
Online Family Reunion at FB.
Last night, my boys went to bed early and I was also tempted to retire the night that hour too but since I napped in the afternoon a little longer, I wasn’t sleepy pa. The spooky Florinda was on TV..not a good late night show to watch by a scaredy-cat as me. So I just turned my laptop on hoping that I’d be set on a lull mode browsing FB and hoped for a luck to grab some online works too. Luckily, I did get a few. I had a nice and hilarious chat over YM, too, with Kathy (lagi naman eh especially when we sing our very own song composition that will hit the airwaves soon..”kerima kerima…ang __ mong kyut” bwahaha!), I don’t know but I was in my so makulit mode last night.
While chatting and grabbing opps, my sister, bro, stepmom and I had a fun time chatting, where else, on Facebook. It’s really fascinating how the internet can bridge the distance..from where I am (QC), I got connected with Mom (and Papa) in Saudi, Sis and Bro in Makati.
Sayang, our eldest sister who’s in Qatar didn’t go online last night. Perhaps, she was busy nursing my cute niece, Leela. And just like mom, commented..Papa isn’t bothering to create an account for now because he’s busy with his sideline works, as always. It could have been an instant online family reunion.

Hubby and I (and the little one) rejoiced when we learned last Friday that President GMA declared tomorrow a special non-working holiday for the interment of the late Brother EraƱo Manalo, Executive Minister of INC. Another long weekend for the month and it means more bonding time with Daddy but unfortunately, the government announced yesterday an exemption:
BPO and electronic industries are exempted from the non-working holiday proclamation on Monday as requested by DTI Secretary Peter Favila.”
~Press Secretary Cerge Remonde
So there our happiness was just short lived as Daddy has work tomorrow with their company classified as a BPO. Now, this is creating a big confusion. Does it mean that these companies are exempted as well in all of the succeeding special non-working holidays? This is making our holiday planning even more complicated now. Kainis!

Even though I’m no longer part of the workforce, I simply adore long weekends and holidays. For the simple reason that Asher and I spend long quality time with the Daddy. And I have to add, the family table is complete and we eat our meals on time. You know how Paul’s work load and schedule have been in the past weeks and I’ve quite been accustomed to either eating my dinner late because I have to wait for him or I have to eat alone. Also, long weekends mean long rest day too for my ears. *nuninuninuni* Further, it spells lakwatsa day for me and Asher or a pig out merienda.
Friday: We just chilled and lazed at home. Went out to a nearby grocery store in the morning to buy the ingredients for Carbonara that I’d be cooking for our merienda. Stayed online for most hours of the day and did some online works. Basically, the Carbonara I cooked was the highlight of the day. I’ll be sharing the ingredients in my “coming soon” food blog.
Saturday: It rained very hard Saturday dawn that it flooded deep the low lying areas in the metropolis including near our place. The downpour plus the continuous loud thunders woke the three of us. Asher kept on doing his “thunder” sign (both hands on cheeks instead of ears). I tried to sleep again but Kathy sent me a text message about an online opps alert. So while the rains flooded some areas, I got flooded too with a number of $$ works.
We were supposed to go later in the afternoon to Manila Ocean Park but because of Blogi tasks that I have to work on and I’m sure *katams* hit the husband so we both agreed to reschedule the visit next week. For the rest of the day, I just blogged and blogged and blogged and played and played..and played FB games.
Sunday: We attended the morning Sunday mass. Watched the UAAP games (darn, UST lost to Ateneo) while I tried to finish my online works. Had Yellow Cab pizza for merienda. And stayed late last night as I tried to beat the deadline of my online tasks.
Here are some weekend pictures of the little brat.

Asher the Learner

I know what you’re all thinking about this act. Haha!

His favorite facial expression these days
Saturday Story.
Before today’s happenings will get buried down the memory lane, here I am staying up on a Saturday night blogging my heart out while watching over my two asleep sick boys. The husband complained of migraine earlier while the little one has the sniffles and is now badly coughing, too. Sheesh, it will be one zombie night for me as I have to closely monitor especially the little one. Even sleeping pills won’t take effect because it’s just bothersome if you have a sick kiddo. No matter how hard you try to fall asleep, your eye could not just close. My throat’s getting itchy at the moment. I hope it’s nothing. As for the husband, well, his body is just taking its toll on him for “generously” loving his work so much. ‘Nuff said.
Anyway, here’s how our day went.
We, or should I say, the husband woke up to a lazy Saturday morning. We were supposed to visit a friend who has just given birth but the husband decided that we’ll go there tomorrow instead. Aside from engaging with our morning online routine, we were entertained by the little one with this drama:

While dressing him up after his bath, he asked that we put on a pair of socks to him then he pointed later to his green sandals. He then grabbed his brown knapsack and repeatedly hand signaled “Bayang Magiliw” sign (he pats his chest with his right hand).

The moment we got downstairs, he hurriedly went to the garage and headed to the Kinder 1 classroom of my in-laws’ pre-school which is just right next to the house. Unfortunately, this is what he saw. There were no kids, no Mrs. Ong who will greet him “good morning, asher!”, chairs and tables are fixed..because it’s a Saturday.
He retreated thus, with this sad look on his face.
Awww, so sorry my sweetie. Here’s perhaps what he’s looking forward to do:

After lunch, we readied for Asher’s well baby checkup. I’m so happy to see the weighing scale tipping at the 11th kilo mark, a 0.5 kilo increase from his last month’s. Hooray to that! You know how a bit conscious I’ve been with his weight progress in the past few months. And I couldn’t be happier when I got this result from a Baby Ideal Weight Calculator:

Meaning he’s just on the average weight for his age. He may appear lanky and slimmer but he definitely is looking taller. His Pedia doesn’t measure and record his height progress but according to the growth chart we have here at home, he’s at the 32 in mark which is the 50th percentile..just the median weight of toddlers of his age.
Asher also got his Pentaxime first booster shot the needle poke of which was unnoticed because he was busy receiving a lollipop from the Pediatrician’s secretary. Yay..we’re on the booster shots already. We were instructed to continue giving him Salinase drops and more water plus Dimetapp for his colds.
Tomorrow will be another busy day for us: visit Baby Jayden Gabriel, bound to Makati afterwards then grocery shopping before heading back home here in Frisco. Hopefully, I’ll be online in the evening to finish these long queue of online tasks that were poured my way today.
