Good Food. Good Laugh. Good Time. Great Friends.
Last Friday, April 17 is the most awaited day in our twitter group. Trinity’s home from the US and she initiated this grand EB so we can get together and have fun, this time, offline. The party was held at BSA Tower, a fully furnished serviced apartment right in front of Greenbelt 5. We got a 2 Bedroom Suite and it was spacious enough for all of us. We paid a fairly cheap price (thanks to my sister who helped us avail their corporate rate) so I didn’t expect that they’re equipped with LCD HDTV and other glam electronic gadgets. It started at about 2 pm in the afternoon and ended the next day for a few of us.
We’ve had several meet ups prior this but this surely is one of the biggest and most fun because I got to see, finally, for the first time Diane (who endured a 12-hour bus ride from Bicol), Buge (who brought the best tasting pichi-pichi with cheese), ate JennyL (who didn’t look an ate at all), Mich (who didn’t look she has just given birth), Kaje with baby Abi (a doting mom yet she made it a point that she wouldn’t miss this meet up and so she brought along cutie and well-behaved Abi), Toni (who was quiet and I can’t believe that this sexy lady is a mom to two big babies), Jacqui (who was a chikadora and I heard a good inquisitor) and of course, Trin (who’s so bubbly, sexy and makes a good boudoir model). Of course, there’s Aggie, Thea, Joy, Kathy and Alpha. We missed Litzie, Rache and Peachy who couldn’t make it due to emergency family matters.
Even though I could leave Asher at home, I decided to tag them (with yayay) along so he can nap and enjoy the cool atmosphere of the condotel. The heat is driving us all nuts. According to the yaya, he could have slept longer if not for a blaring TV commercial. He also enjoyed playing, roaming around and even charmed his Auntie Bebots with his crazy antics. And of course, he enjoyed devouring the champola sticks that were used as dippers for the chocolate fountain.

Good food. So while everyone was busy twittering (in real life, that is) we feasted over the bountiful catered foods from CCME and cheesecake from Red Ribbon. The chocolate fountain drove everyone crazy. I wasn’t able to taste the one in Asher’s party so I really made sure that my tummy has enough space for that heavenly choco.

The highlights of our meet up (aside from the food) include camwhoring, playing taboo where, in my opinion, we’re the true winners, showering of gifts and pasalubongs, Trin’s boudoir, and the very much heated discussion about what wives and ladies are discreetly most interested in. Too bad, Alpha, Kathy and I have to leave early so we weren’t part of that controversial discussion. Nevertheless, Aggie relayed each and every topic and how the question and answer went so we’re still updated. :big grin:

They’re also the sweetest because I got to take home loots and tokens like a framed scrap from Diane, makeup and a RED (ganda talaga!) organizer from Trin and a pair of earrings which Joy bought as our EB token.

When I resigned from work, one of the things that I dreaded is that my social life will get dull and boring. But it turned out differently as I even gained true friends who share the same interests as yours, who are there through thick and thin, who are a tweet and chat message away to kill boredom, and above all, they are just there to rock your world by lending their ears to hear your rants and raves about anything in the world. I’ve posted this on my Facebook and I’m telling it here again: If you find Twitter boring, it is because you don’t have fun to be with, sexy, crazy and wacky friends such as these gals.

One Fine Weekend at Sonyas.
I bet I’m the last one to post about this. I’m such a slacker with my blogging these days.

Anyway, my boys and I drove south two weeks ago to meet my Twitter buddies. It’s actually a long planned meet up with an indefinite date since the meeting depends on the arrival schedule of our December shopping loots from Boston (through the kindness of our dear friend Glo). Hubby, Asher, Yayay and I set out at exactly 9:00 am and our destination: Sonya’s Garden at Alfonso, Cavite. Side kwento: I didn’t have a tough time persuading the husband to join/drive us there because I wished that this’d be my birthday “pasyal” (since we weren’t able to go out on my birthday). Also, it’s been a while since we last visited Tagaytay so that weekend was the perfect time to do so.
Two hours later, we reached Tagaytay and ate merienda at Jollibee Rotonda first. We then braved (because it’s our first time to go to Sonya’s and we’re clueless of its exact location) the highway towards Alfonso. And with watchful eyes and with the help of big signages, we reached Sonya’s Garden just in time when the gang was about to enter the resto. We devoured leafy and healthy foods like salad, pasta and cake while chatting away. It’s our first time to eat there and for once, we were like goats..(hehe..just joking!)…this is the first time that we ate a 100% real-healthy-all-vegetable meal. Hubby and I will definitely come back here soon.
As photography is one of our common interests (aside from digiscrapping, shopping and twittering), we wandered around the garden and took shots of everyone and everything. The kids enjoyed playing and posing in front of their folks’ cameras.
We retreated after a while, got our loots and decided to go elsewhere. Asher fell asleep as soon as we boarded the van on our way to the ranch beside Hotel Vista where horses can be rented for a ride. But since we wouldn’t want to wake him up and considering the traffic we were to toil along SLEX, we decided to head home instead. The rest went horse riding and the pictures are proof how the kids had a blast albeit the afternoon scorching heat and even without equestrian apparels. If not for the heat, we could have stayed longer too and joined everybody even while the little one sleeps. On the other hand, we were still lucky that we went home early because we toiled SLEX for 3 hours on our way back home. The traffic was so bad even before we got to the SLEX highway. Thanks to Colette’s buko pie, chocovron and the sweet corn that we bought along the highway vendors, munching them drove my sleepiness and boredom away.
Eventhough we spent just a few hours with them, it was still one sweet afternoon to cherish and of course, a must repeat one. Can’t wait to meet again these girls and their families. See you soon girls!

Filed under Online Friends | Comment (0)Friday Twitter EB.
Before I blog about my weekend recap, I have to start with the impromptu Twitter EB last Friday. I was that excited and eager to see these girls again that even if I don’t have anything to get from the shopping box (which is the the meet up reason, btw), I made my way to Greenbelt to meet them without the little one in tow. But of course, I made sure that he’s settled down: well fed and sound sleeping when I set out. Incidentally, I also needed to get the mock up wedding invite of my sister from Printed Matter in Glorietta. I didn’t get to join their lunch at Big Buddha since I went out late from home and so I just followed them at Starbucks. Too bad, I missed probably half of the discussion and heavy chismisan LOL but nevertheless, I was able to catch up somehow and joined their loud shrieks and gushes over things that we also normally twit about…only, it’s much enjoyable because of Donya Kathy’s up front and live punchlines.

As always, we felt bitin at about 6. We had to get going because it was already dark and late. Kathy and I had a hard time hailing a cab so we just joined Thea in walking towards Ayala Ave where most public transports are. With our home just a stone’s throw a way from Ayala, I arrived to my waiting little son, who upon sight of me, cried. He missed me perhaps as much as I missed him. So there, my Friday was a leisure time and it felt good. I think I’m on my way to managing better my separation anxiety from the little one.
Thanks by the way to Tita Litzie and Tita Alpha for Asher’s gifts. Ayun andun sa ilalim ng Christmas tree. Hehe!

Where and who I was with yesterday?

Yes, same girls who I twit with everyday..only minus the laptop, internet and twitter. This was supposedly a simple meet up of Aggie, Joy, Litzie, Thea and Alpha for them to get their shopping loot that was coursed through Glo. But it turned to a Twitter EB as they extended the invitation to the rest of the twitter gang and so Kathy and I were also there. This was taken at Starbucks Greenbelt where they had coffee after, according to them, a very sumptuous and heavy lunch at Big Buddha. They cared less about the extra calories they gained..thank goodness there are diet supplements out there. I didn’t get to join them for lunch since I needed to settle down the little one first in the afternoon before I could go out.
More pics later. Thanks Litzie for the great shots.
