Closet Sisters.

June 18th, 2009

In general, having a sibling is undoubtedly fun especially if you’re all just a few years old apart. And closet wise, it’s much more fun if you have two elder sisters who have exactly or almost the same body built as yours. However, being the youngest has a disadvantage before when we were still small. We all went to the same grade school so my uniforms then were mostly just hand me downs. I rarely get to wear new ones. Good thing we grew up with different physiques come teenage years and took up different courses (although in the same school). Otherwise, I would have worn hand me down uniforms all through college. I know there’s nothing wrong wearing/using them as in fact, it’s just practical especially in these hard economic times. But of course, nothing beats the feeling of joy and excitement to wear new uniforms on the first day of school right?

Now that we’re grown ups and have the means to buy our own clothes, it’s much enjoyable now. Our closets are very much open to each other although we have different styles and preferences with clothes. We get to borrow and try on one’s style. Among us three, my ate Tet (elder sister) has the biggest eye for fashion and also has the widest wardrobe collection. She can wear those vintage clothes with such a great confidence without making it look so baduy (unfashionable). She’s our consultant actually when my eldest sister and I are having trouble mix and matching colors and pieces from top to shoes. Give her these pieces I saw from Stylehive.com and I’m sure she’ll be able to carry it with such a great style and confidence.

Make-ups and Me.

November 27th, 2008

The talks tweets about Everyday Minerals yesterday made me realize that I do need a set of new makeup. I’m not that vain nor too much keen how overly glamorous and glittering my face should look when I go out but of course, I still see to it that I look presentable…somehow. So my kikay kit just contains the basics: foundation, one shade of eyebrow color, a blush and a lipstick. Honestly, I don’t know much about make-ups. I care less about the brushes I use. I’m clueless what hues or colors that would go fine with my tone and moreso, I don have the artistic hands to transform my face into one dashing celebrity looking mom (LOL). Perhaps, it is because I grew up in simplicity or should I say with a boring and plain fashion.

And so back to the talks yesterday, I browsed EM site and it seems that the sleeping “vanity” in me was jolted. I’d like to try their sampler kit…hmmm no, I’d like to buy one full kit. Kathy’s persuading me since she has it too and she’s all praises with these minerals thingie so I might as well try. But then again, I don’t want to touch my paypal especially now that online works are scanty. And so it’s just suffice to say that this should be listed on my Wish List. *Uy may nagpaparinig* :)

Quite Not Ready Still.

November 21st, 2008

Just a month to go and we’re off to Boracay for a beach holiday. Everything’s ready..the tickets, accommodation, the little one’s swimwear and even my Mother-in-Law has shopped her swimming getup. Everybody’s almost ready except me. I don’t have my tankini top still and a beach sandal. So here I am browsing Baby Phat Shoes catalog for ideas. For the tankini, I might scour the mall this weekend for the design and style that I want. Back to the beach sandal, I find this Baby Phat’s beach sandal amusing and cool.

Looks like gladiator sandals but they’re made for the beach with its rubber kitty soles. It’s good for some late night walking along the beach or just nice to strut while attending a beach party. I love the laces and I find them sexy. Let’s see if I can find similar to this one in the mall.

Plaid Coats.

October 14th, 2008

With the coming of the cold days and onset of the winter season, it’s just a right time to start sorting and bring out the dusty winter wardrobe sitting at the back of the closet for almost a year. But if you are planning to buy stylish coats this season or if you want to add some stylish winter clothes to your collection, check out the chic plaid baby phat coats and stylish vests at babyphat.com. If only our country also experiences fall and winter seasons, I could also have bought and strutted these stuffs for cold late night outs.

I have a penchant for plaid designs and these definitely are a darling to my eyes. I’ve also read that plaid fashion is one of the safest meaning, they can be combined with any other color. So if you are aiming for a trendy and fashionable winter wardrobe, Baby Phat plaid coats are the way to go.

Dress Styles That Hide Your Flaws.

August 28th, 2008

Do you sometimes find yourself standing in front of the mirror for hours confusingly and desperately trying out tons of clothings but can’t decide which style would best hide your body flaws? Well I do. By flaw, it doesn’t always mean to say that you have excess baggage of fats flabs anywhere that Lipovox couldn’t even make them vanish. It could also mean that you have unwanted body part lengths such as long torso, short legs, short neck, small bust and all those unproportional parts. If you are experiencing wardrobe crisis because of these, worry no more. You need not agonize yourself about those flaws that prevent you from looking good in your clothes and can’t stay chic and fashionable. Check out the Figure Flatterer at iVillage and find the outfit that works for your figure. For example, I have short legs, these are the things that would look good on me. For pants, I should look for a flared leg or the palazzo pants and should NOT go for high-waisted trouser and tight jeans. There’s more on their site.
