Apalit Sunday Getaway.

April 28th, 2009

Last April 19, we, together with my in-laws, trooped to Apalit..my MIL’s hometown. It’s their town fiesta and given the fact that Kapampangans are great cooks, this event shouldn’t surely be missed. We had great food..all tables that we went were abound with various meat, chicken and fish dishes, sweet native delicacies, street foods (there were chicken feet and head) and a lot more. We “table-hopped” from house to house (there were four all in all) and we’re overwhelmed with the hospitality of Paul’s relatives. We were so full that our tummies felt like it’s gonna explode if we took in another bite. It’s just a blessing that I have a scrawny built and I am not conscious of my calories intake so diet pills are out of the picture. We took some photos however, the heat was so intolerable plus our heavy tummies idled us that we were able to take just a few snapshots and of course, mostly of the little one.

The Birthday & Mother’s Day Gift In One.

April 24th, 2009

Mother’s Day is on May 10.

The husband’s birthday is on May 14.

Instead of buying each other separate presents, here’s what we will “jointly” purchase and “jointly” gift each other. Just like how we did with our Christmas gift last year.

50mm 1.4

It was actually a toss between Nikon 50mm f/1.8 AF and Nikon 50mm f/1.4 AF but after careful consideration and comparative review, we agreed to get the latter. I also inquired yesterday and compared prices between Hidalgo shops and a nearby camera store, DPOnline. Price range wise, they’re almost all the same so more likely, we will get in touch with DPOnline soon. Unfortunately, it appears that our desired lens is out of stock among all the stores we’ve canvassed. I still have a week anyway so let us hope and pray that stocks get replenished very soon. Geezz…can’t wait.

Skywatch: The View from Baden.

December 25th, 2008

The view from Baden Powell Inn.

Here’s the morning view from our hotel room window during our recent Baguio trip. Lovely, isn’t it? This is just a sneak peek..more pictures to follow. Promise. :)

By the way, this is also my first photo share using our new toy and very first DSLR, Nikky. I’m so totally in love with it. :D

Meet Nikky.

And finally, he’s here. (Yes, it’s a boy).

Si Nikky.

*Taken using the S3 IS (kaya grainy haha!)

Hubby and I finally have our common wedding-anniversary-and-Christmas-gift in one for each other. Meet Nikky. We welcome with so much joy our very new toy that will accompany us in capturing celebrations, emotions and memories of our little family from now on. We won’t be disposing our beloved S3 IS and it’s here to stay to serve as a back up and besides, its video feature has always been reliable. We don’t have a camcorder yet so all of Asher’s previous videos were taken using that.

The husband and I giddily took turns testing it upon getting home last night. And I’m so taken aback with all its lovely and crisp shots. Or perhaps, sanay lang ako sa grainy pics ni S3 IS haha! But seriously, I love the “angas” look when you hold it, the click sound and everything. Pro na pro ang dating. The features and settings on the menu are quite overwhelming at first but this gives me the reason to learn more about photography seriously. Read as: Aralin ang manual. The husband has started reading it last night. He’s far more excited actually than I am. In fact, he even dreamed of it last night.

We also bought a LCD protector and a Spirit Pop Up Diffuser (thanks Kathy!) since we don’t have a flash yet. We also didn’t buy another lens but we’ll save up for that though. We’ll practice with the 18-55 MM that’s included in the kit, for now.

So to my husband, hope you enjoy my gift to you as much as I enjoy your gift to me. Mwahaha! Advance Happy Anniversary and Merry Christmas! And to Asher, I know you’ll more enjoy posing and smiling for us when we take pictures of you because of this new toy. :D

And to my bebot and twittermates, tara lets, Photoshoot and tutorial EB na ito!

Soon.
