Last night, I received a phone call from a friend and told me the news about another friend’s miscarriage. Such a tragic and depressing news because there are three of us in the group who’s pregnant and we’re even planning of having a group maternity photo shoot in two months time. Although it hasn’t been talked it over yet, who knows, we could even have a triple baby shower celebration a few months from now, too.
More than these plans not pushing through, I’m most saddened by the loss. They just got married last January and the baby’s supposedly their first. I know how depressing and heartbreaking this situation is for them because they badly wanted and excited to have a baby soon. They were beyond bliss when they announced the pregnancy a few weeks ago. My friend even started to be thrilled browsing pregnancy fora and baby shopping sites. She even mentioned about the cute Baby Gifts collections she saw at The White Company. She said, she’d really be ecstatic to receive cashmere baby shawls, organic cotton rompers, organic bumbleebee socks or those little, cute plushies.
For now, her excitement over baby stuff has to be momentarily stopped. Perhaps, it’s just isn’t the right time yet. But I admire how she’s dealing with it. They’re hurting, yes, but they remain positive over this thing.
I was so busy yesterday that I totally forgot about posting this.
1. No classes for the little one = more cuddling and bonding time with him.
2. Cozy bed weather. I felt like waking up this morning on pine beds and savoring the cool Baguio breeze.
3. Artscow Photobook promo codes.
4. Delivery of my Bioneem order. Protection of the little one against mosquitoes during the rainy season.
5. Online work slowly piling up. Meaning, more moolah!
6. 25 Weeks! Just 13-15 weeks to go.
7. Friday Payday soon.
8. First time to cook Sweet and Sour Tilapia - a success! The boys loved it.
9. Homework Helper Seminar last weekend. Learned a lot of techniques in assisting the little one with his assignments.
10. Video conferences of Lolo and Asher.
It’s Monday yet it feels like it’s an ordinary Saturday for us. The husband filed for a Vacation Leave while the little one’s class was suspended because of the State of the Nation Address today by the President which will take place in the nearby Batasan Complex. Just a few skips and hops from our place. It would have been a nice day to go malling but due to temporary traffic and road closures within the vicinity, it’s impossible for us to get out. Not unless, we’d still brave the barricades placed, drive along the re-routes and experience the ongoing heavy traffic along the West bound lane of Commonwealth Avenue which was temporarily transferred into a 2-way road. So there, we’ve got no choice but we’re just stuck here at home. At any rate, this spells longer family fun time and bonding time with my two boys. And oh..it’s also a barbecue day for us today! We feasted on freshly grilled Inihaw na Porckchop for lunch and both hubby and I almost consumed all the rice in the cooker. Burp!
Right now, I’m hearing helicopters hovering above us so that signals that the SONA will start any moment now. Time to turn on the TV and hear what the President has to say.
My pregnancy ticker says that I’m on my 24th week and 4th day. So that means Baby Ashley is set to see and say hello to the world in 13-16 weeks time. My Babycenter Pregnancy Weekly Journal says that she’s growing steadily, might now be weighing over a pound already and is almost a foot long. 16 Weeks left…Whew! That’s still quite a long way to go but knowing how time moves so fast, the next thing we know, we’re impatiently waiting for her arrival. This also put us to the stage when we have to start preparing for the big day. Aside from prepping up our savings, ‘tis also the time when we need to plan on securing the essential newborn stuff she’ll be needing.
This may be my second time to welcome a new baby but the excitement of canvassing baby gear and other newborn essentials again makes me so pumped up. I may already have an idea about the basics and even though there are a lot of “hand me downs” from my firstborn, this still doesn’t stop me from scouring Nursery Ideas from websites such as Unique Baby Gear Ideas for best baby nursery themes, nursery decor, nursery furniture sets, nursery lighting and baby bedding sets! I guess, the reason why I’m over the moon and so excited is that I’ll be dealing with the dainty and girly color of pink this time. Planning for the arrival of a little princess is indeed so much fun!
Someone was busy the entire week.
Well, at least, my somewhat hectic week didn’t have to do with gaming computers as it was a productive one. I got a lot of job interview invites from several client prospects and I’m so pleased that I got shortlisted to quite a number, too. Great! Since my regular online income source is quite stagnant and scarce at the moment, these alternatives might just be my savior for the month.
Here’s another proof of my productivity this week:
Yes..five photobooks in just one day. I finally accomplished and ordered the following Photobooks from Artscow. Again, huge thanks for the sweet Artscow deals I’ve got where the 20 pages 8x 8 Photobooks are free and I just paid for the shipping. If you still haven’t, sign up now at Artscow to also get free Photobooks!
1. Asher’s Summer School
2. Asher’s First Day in School
3. Singapore Trip – Day 1
4. Singapore Trip – Day 3
5. Singapore Trip – Day 4 & 5
If you’ve noticed, there’s no Singapore Trip – Day 2 Photobook yet. It is because I’m meaning to use a 39-page Photobook for that and I’m still working on it. Day 2 had the most number of pictures so I really have to allot extra pages for that.
