We culminated yesterday the husband’s month long birthday celebration with our great ISOBO friends. They’re actually the husband’s closest buddies at work. As to why the group is named ISOBO, well, it’s a long story and I bet they want it to remain confidential (hehe!). Paul has been with the company for 7 years already so most of these friends have become our lifelong friends and even kumares/kumpares. They didn’t need to have name badges for me to recall their names as I’ve become pretty acquainted to most of them already.
Paul and our kumare Ena share the same birthday date so they opt to celebrate together through a potluck party at Ena’s place. Some of the “members” have actually resigned already so they also took this chance to get together and catch up. I cooked the husband’s fave Carbonara to add to our buffet table consisting of pansit, barbecue, chicken lollipop, cakes and Arny Dading’s pichi-pichi. The kids have a grand time swimming in the pool while the parents chatted the afternoon away. We finished the so-called “reunion” through a videoke feast until late night at Karaoke Republic before calling it a long day.
Here are some of our pictures:
No pictures of the kids enjoying the pool. The parents were actually too occupied chatting and just having a nice time, too, while they swam.
Looking at my excel of our impending expenses, seems like we need to double time and exert more hard work to save.
- tuition fee
- June trip
- monthly amortization
- of course, there’s my prenatal and delivery fund
- and endless bills!
Sheesh, if only I could win the Lotto jackpot (as if I’m betting LOL) then all these will be instantly covered. Or if the husband just chose to be a boxer, then I’d be another Jinkee who’s having a headache not knowing and puzzled where to put Manny’s riches.
Kidding aside, I’m thankful that despite all these, we have enough provisions and we’re continuously blessed.
Thank you for the seeds, Lord. Hope you continually give us the strength and the fertilizers we need to grow these seeds.
I rarely had prenatal photos during my pregnancy with Asher. I was just plain lazy back then to pose or smile for the camera, not that that I’m so huge and looked horrible. But now, it looks like I won’t have much pregnancy photos again for the second time because..okay, I’ll say it..I look awful with all these pregnancy acne that I have. Really..if only zenmed and other acne pills have feet, I swear, they’ll run after me because it’s that bad. I even have them on my neck as if there’s no more space on my face to appear on. I never had these in my entire life or even with my first pregnancy. But as they say, every pregnancy differs and as my OB confirms it, it’s all the hormones’ fault! I can’t just use any topical treatments available because they’re not also all safe for the baby. The only consolation I have is that these will eventually go away so to my hormones…please be don’t be so cruel anymore.
Just a few days to go and finally, here comes June! I’m excited about June because Asher will start nursery schooling on the 21st and it’ll be a family month! My folks from Saudi and my eldest sister from Qatar are scheduled to come home for their annual vacation. I’m excited to see and be with them especially my niece who’ll celebrate her 2nd birthday here. I’ve seen her pictures on Facebook and she’s grown so cute and oh so adorable. I’d love to smooch (and pinch hehe) her chubby cheeks! Oh yes, I’m looking forward to unearth loots from those pasalubong boxes! Further, I’m ecstatic about the out of the country trip we’ve been planning for months now. Finally, my passport will get stamped again after 16 years while it’ll be a first for the husband and the little one. I can already sense that it will be one busy month for all of us as we’ll be frequenting our Makati home for sure. The doting grannies miss their apo tremendously! I can’t wait to bond and catch up with my parents and siblings…oh how I miss them all so much!
Just watched the AI Season 10 finale and yes, the results further dampened my “already bad” mood. Since the auditions, I’ve been rooting for Lauren Alaina. They say that she’s just another Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson wannabe because of the similarities in their singing styles but I just love everything about that girl. I love her voice and although she looked like she needed sensa at the start of the season, she’s cute and I love her youthful smile and the sparkle in her eyes. She and Thia were the youngest and the best of friends in the Season so that’s a plus thing. Scotty’s good too but perhaps country music isn’t just my thing, that’s why.
Anyway, I know Lauren will certainly make it equally big in the music industry even though she isn’t the Idol winner. I’m very sure of that.
As for my not being in the best spirits..well,
who what else to blame? Pregnancy hormones! I’ll just try drown away these bad vibes by working on my online tasks. Hope these all shall pass….the soonest.
